Hola, I’m Rosa, a PGCE-qualified Spanish teacher with over 15 years’ experience.

I first began teaching Spanish over 15 years ago, working with adults all across London — including professionals at The Financial Times — as well as learners who simply wanted to feel confident travelling or chatting with Spanish-speaking friends and family.

Teaching quickly became my passion, and even though I already held official teaching qualifications in Spain, I wanted to deepen my training here in the UK. That led me to complete my PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Brighton, specialising in teaching in UK schools.

Since then, I’ve taught in secondary schools across Brighton, Oxford and London, preparing students for GCSE, A-Level, IB and Oxbridge entrance exams. Today, I combine academic training, school experience and years of teaching adults to help learners of all ages feel supported, motivated and genuinely confident speaking Spanish.

My Story as a Qualified Native Spanish Teacher in the UK

I grew up in Spain in a very chatty family where meals lasted hours and stories were always being told. Languages fascinated me from a young age, and I loved helping people feel at home in Spanish, even if it wasn’t their first language.

When I moved to the UK, teaching Spanish quickly felt like the right path. From adults in London offices to teenagers in schools, I realised that every learner needs something different, and I loved the challenge of helping each person succeed in their own way.

Over the years I’ve worked with shy Year 7s, anxious GCSE students, focused A-Level learners and adults who thought they were “too old” to learn a language. Spoiler: they weren’t. Every student proved that Spanish can click when the teaching feels human, warm and personalised.

All the years, teaching as a native Spanish teacher has given me the chance to work closely with students who need structure, motivation and clear explanations.

My teaching style is rooted in both professional training and a genuine love for helping people succeed. I don’t believe in overwhelming students with long explanations or endless memorisation. Instead, I focus on clear, simple teaching that makes Spanish feel logical and enjoyable.

As a native Spanish teacher, I focus on simple, practical steps that help students finally understand grammar and use it with confidence.

Every lesson is built around real examples, gentle guidance and practical activities that help you understand why a structure works, not just how. Whether we’re practising past tenses, building paragraphs for GCSE, or breaking down complex grammar for A-Level, I adapt everything to your pace and confidence.

Above all, I want students to feel comfortable, supported and motivated. Spanish becomes easier when you feel safe to try, make mistakes, laugh a little, and keep going.

I use colour-coding, visuals, guided practice and real exam-style tasks so you immediately use the grammar, not just learn it. Whether you’re speaking about your weekend, analysing a film, or preparing a written response, we always bring Spanish to life through real communication.

My goal is simple: for you to leave every lesson feeling more confident than when you walked in.

Who I Love Teaching

After teaching hundreds of learners over the years, I’ve discovered how rewarding each stage of learning can be, and how different their needs are.

GCSE students often arrive feeling unsure about listening, verb endings or writing longer answers. Together, we break things down, build vocabulary and practise exam techniques until everything feels more manageable, and sometimes even fun.

A-Level learners want depth: sophisticated language, confident analysis, better flow in essays and natural spoken Spanish. I help them understand complex grammar, add precision to their writing, and develop real cultural insight, the elements examiners look for.

Adults are some of my favourite students. Many come with busy schedules or past frustrations with language learning. With them, I focus on practical Spanish for real life: travel, family, work, confidence and communication. And little by little, they start surprising themselves with how much they can say.
